Abstract: The authors carried out a statistical analysis on the condition of development of various event branches of university student sports associations in China, the condition of event setup by all previous national university stu-dent games, the condition of development of non-Olympic events in national university student sports competitions after 2008, and revealed the following findings: in major sports associations and sports games in China, Olympic events still had an advantageous status; the proportion of non-Olympic events increased year by year, and its in-creasing speed had exceeded Olympic events’; non-Olympic events in single event competitions developed more rapidly in recent years, having been basically provided with the performance to compete with Olympic events equally. Non-Olympic events are numerous, features respectively packed, inheritable and time specific; their com-petition forms are diversified, prone to be accepted by the university student group. Universities had advantageous conditions for boosting the development of non-Olympic events, will become an important innovative development path for the development of non-Olympic events in China in the future.Key words: sports management；non-Olympic event；national university student games；national university student sport competition；China
